Wippolder

Wippolder is the largest district in terms of area but has relatively few residents. The district includes some rural and industrial areas. The buildings in Wippolder are very diverse and many of them are owned by the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and businesses. Wippolder is located in the south-west corner of Delft and the residential neighbourhood is in the northern section of the district. Most homes were built before 1945 but there are also new buildings. Most of the district has a lot of greenery. The TU Delft has a great deal of space for sports, public open space and car parks.

Wippolder has around 11,000 residents. The population is influenced by the TU Delft; there are a lot of young men, people in their 20s and few children.

Accessibility by car is very good. The A13 motorway is close by. There are several cycling routes into the centre of Delft. There are buses and the tram service is being expanded to serve TU Delft.
